A Centennial with Liberty Enlightening the World

On July 03, 1986 America celebrated the Statue of Liberty’s centennial and the completion of her restoration. She was officially unveiled in a special ceremony on the evening of July 03, 1986. Video below reflects this special moment in time:

One of the more distinctive restorations was the light of her torch. The flame was replaced with a new one molded in copper and covered in 24-karat gold leaf:
